Blueberries and peaches. This is why we want to go to Coppell this weekend. Melons, peppers, and squash are big, as well as hatch chile tamales (maybe that’s the real reason we want to go). But then there will also be a fun VW bus where you can buy fantastic, all-natural popsicles made by Pop Star Handcrafted Popsicles. See our recent interview with them here. This husband-and-wife team has a dedication and passion that really shows. See a full list of Coppell’s vendors here.

Frisco Farmers Market
Frisco will host Texas Hill Country Olive Oil Co., winner of multiple awards for its oils and vinegars. Also check out AustiNuts, who dry-roasts their nuts for a great crunch. You can also find Young Living Essential Oils, which are quite popular these days. Also check out Plano’s Edelweiss Soap Company’s goats’ milk soap. This weekend they will offer scents like Manly Man, Mermaid Kisses, Blarney Stoned, Country Bumpkin, Baby Clean, and Tobacco Caramel. These handmade soaps and creams are creamy and smell great.

Jammit! Jam will be at the market this weekend. They use seasonal, whole-fruit, natural cane sugar and a splash of libation in jams like Balsamic Black Pepper, Raspberry Ginger Stout, Apple Cinnamon Bourbon, and Papaya Rosemary Rita. Rosewood Beef is back, delivering meat from naturally raised cattle, sustainable, hormone- and antibiotic-free, grass-fed and grain-finished. Wagyu is known for its softer fat, intense marbling and lower cholesterol than commodity beef. Stock up on prepared meals by My Gluten Free Friend’s Gluten-Free Meatballs & Marinara, Crab Cakes and Pizzas, Merlin’s Baking & Catering Vegetable Salads, Hummus, Spreads, Dips, Empanadas. Picklelicious Pickle’s Spicy-Chicken Pickle is worth a try too. It has no chicken, but the savory smell is a reminder of chicken frying. The pickles have 17 herbs, seven spices and 10 dehydrated vegetables. The mango-chile relish is delicious too. Look for lots of late-summer produce like tomatoes, okra, squash, peaches and watermelons.

August Markets continues, benefitting Community Partners with a Back to School Drive. Drop off school supplies during this month. Here is a full list of Saturday’s vendors: Baugh Farm, Becerra’s Tex-Mex, Behrnes Pepper Salt, Custom Cafe Foods, Demases Farm Fresh Produce, Designs By Diana, Dolci Creazoni, Happy Tummy, Healthy Baby, Hudspeth Farm, Jammit! This weekend, Food and Artisan market will be held at Green Spot. Look for Good Earth Organic Farms from Celeste, TX for GMO-free produce. Also look for Latte Da Dairy, who has a new product.
