Texas BBQ Week

Texas likes to believe it’s the pioneer of the perfect ‘cue and since everything is better (or is it bigger?) in Texas then why not dedicate a whole week to our contribution to barbecue history? Texas Monthly and Shiner Beers are teaming together for what I believe is a match made in heaven to bring “Texas Barbecue Week 2014.” Last year more than 50 BBQ joints participated in the first ever state-wide celebration and brought in over $10,000 to benefit Foodways Texas, an organization that preserves and promotes the diverse food cultures of Texas. This year, the list grows to 54 spots across Texas, and Dallas makes its mark with six locations to gnaw at some ribs and dribble sauce down your front.
You have until July 19th to take advantage of these deals, but Texas will forever serve as a home to smoked meat and fatty burnt ends.
