Craig Hall Donates Two Restaurant Spaces at Hall Arts to Communities Foundation of Texas

Hall hopes funds derived from the donation will impact local arts groups.

Craig Hall just announced his donation of two premium restaurant spaces to the Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT). Both face Flora Street at ground level of the KPMG Plaza at Hall Arts.

Stephan Pyles has already pre-leased one of them for the relocation of Stephan Pyles Restaurant.

“Hall’s donation of the space we are leasing is philanthropy at a level most of us only dream of…Stephan Pyles Restaurant will be directly contributing to local arts organizations on a daily basis. We hope and expect that the restaurant’s continued success at our new Hall Arts location will make a positive difference in multiple ways to the city, to the Arts District, and to the surrounding communities,” Pyles said.

Funds derived from the gift will be placed in a donor-advised fund, and the Hall family can recommend recipients. Craig Hall hopes the monies will directly benefit Dallas arts groups.

“With the plan for profits derived from this gift to benefit Dallas arts groups, I think it will be fun when people realize that by dining at Stephan Pyles and the other new restaurant at Hall Arts, they will also be indirectly contributing to the benefit of local arts organizations. I believe businesses should do well and do good, too. As more and more people come to the restaurants at Hall Arts, hopefully local nonprofits will benefit and everyone wins.”

Brent Christopher, president and CEO of CFT, said, “This novel and creative gift from Craig Hall capitalizes on CFT’s ability to handle complex charitable assets and put them to good use in the community.”

Phase I of construction is expected to be completed in April 2015.
