It’s no surprise that more tipsy events are popping up through the weekend in addition to our Tuesday report. Dallas likes to get its drink on, and it would be rude to not partake. The city wants us to indulge this week, and indeed we shall.

Friday, August 1st

Dallas may not have the rolling ocean waves, shady palm trees or salty sea breeze, but we do have the sun and now you can enjoy the heat with a tropical coconut drink. Who doesn’t feel cool when sipping a cocktail out of coconut? That’s what Truck Yard thinks at least, and I’m right there with them. From 5pm until the coconuts run out on both days, you can snag a trio of special cocktails served inside actual coconuts from mixologist Jason Kosmos. This isn’t a vacation though, because you’ll actually have to use a hammer and instructions to open the top of the coconut before receiving your beverage. The $10 cocktails include a Lada Colada, Lime in d’Coconut and My Tie.

Starting today until Sunday, help Zen Sushi celebrate its 7th Anniversary with $7 specials. All weekend long, Zen will feature $7 select rolls, chicken lettuce wraps, select cocktails, Lychee Sangria and champagne mojitos. There may be a $7 special per person per visit, but there’s no limit on the $7 cocktails.

Saturday August 2nd

If you like to sway your hips and get a little weird when putting back a couple local craft beers, then you’ll want to head to House of Blues for DFW Local Brews and Local Grooves. That means 12 local breweries, 10 local bands and local eateries coming together at this one-of-a-kind venue to bring an event that will surely rock out. Each room will represent a different DFW region, with breweries debuting their latest concoctions in honor of the occasion. Click here for more information.

Sunday August 3rd

After you get your classy brunch in and wash back a couple drinks head to Bonchon Chicken for their last round of Korean-style wings and tenders. This international chicken chain stationed off Greenville Avenue will close its doors after today to be reconcepted into a more traditional restaurant called Ashwood, a “bar and burger joint” with wings and salads. Bring your tissues and pay your dues to this much beloved chicken chain.

Monday August 4th

What could be a more indulgent way to improve your Monday blues than a truffle-inspired dinner at FT33 featuring fresh black truffles from The Truffle & Wine Co., the largest producer of Australian truffles? The $115 seasonal menu by Chef Matt McCallister will showcase dishes like scallops black truffle, cavatelli summer herbs, corona beans corn, crab and local wagyu black truffle. Get there at 6 pm and pitch in the extra $55 for wine pairings. Call 214-741-2629 to make a reservation.
