italyCentral Market’s annual two-week themed celebration will spotlight the culinary arts of Italy. Passport Italy takes place from Wednesday, April 30 through Tuesday, May 13 at all Central Market locations in Texas. Here are just a few things you can expect to see and taste:

*Cheese and prosciutto makers Paolo Tanara, president of the Prosciutto di Parma Consortium and producer of Parma hams for Central Market, Giovanni Parente, a producer of Mozzarella di Bufala for over a century, Emanuela Perenzin, a fourth generation cheesemaker, Latteria Perenzin, and  Steano Sarti

*Over 40 winemakers and cooking classes with renowned Italian chefs including Fabio Viviani and Domenica Marchetti*Wine makers: Luca Bosio of Luca Bosio Vineyards, Stefano Chiarlo of Michele Chiarlo Vineyards, Umberto Cosmo of the Bellenda estate, Franceso Daddi from the Ormanni farm, Antonio M. Zaccheo Jr. of Carpineto Wines

Expect the shelves to be crammed with traditional foods and ingredients, along with hundreds of new items such as gelatos, breads, pastas, cured meats, wines, cheeses, oils, vinegars, and chef-prepared foods.
