How many of you have children who eat almost nothing but chicken nuggets and fries? To me, it’s a horrible fixation for kids and adults. I blame McDonald’s, but there are plenty of other contenders. All of you stuck on Raising Cane’s chicken strips can hit me now.
In mid-March, PDQ will open in Frisco (4585 Preston Rd.). People Dedicated to Quality will offer “hand-tossed” chicken tenders, sandwiches, salad, fries, homemade dressings and sauces, milkshakes and malts. Their goal is to create high-quality food, memorable service, and genuine hospitality.”
The burgeoning chain started in Tampa in late 2011. They must be doing something right: There are 18 locations across the south and another six in the works. I’m anxious to try their blueberry coleslaw.
Hand-tossed milkshakes makes me think of Harvey Gough, the curmudgeon behind the counter at Goff’s. Whenever you order a shake to go, he poured it in a white sack. That is if he didn’t kick you out before you ordered.
