Where to Ring in 2014 on New Year’s Eve in Dallas

A guide to the city's most exciting parties.

Maybe you’re packing up and heading out of town to some tropical island. Or maybe you’re shacking up in a cabin in the woods somewhere and skipping the countdown all together. But if you’re in town, you’ll want a plan. Here’s a list of Dallas bars and their agendas for the big night.

Where: Alexandre’s
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Andrea Dawson and Holland K. Smith take the stage. There’s no cover, but reserving seats is $25. Enjoy a complimentary champagne toast and party favors. Make seat reservations over the phone.

Where: Avenu

 

What: A New Year in Paris
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: This French-themed party will actually reward two lucky guests with a trip to Paris. But before all that, enjoy confetti, a balloon drop, champagne toast, etc.

Where: Blackfriar Pub
Start Time: opens at 3 p.m.
Details: Put on your party favors and dance to the tunes of live DJs. Expect a $5 cover after 9 p.m. and a $10 cover after 10 p.m.

Where: Bowl & Barrel
What: Roll into 2014
Start Time: 11 p.m.
Details: Spend $100 from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. for one bowling land for up to eight people, shoes for all, a bottle of champagne, hot pretzels with fondue, other snacks, and party hats and noise makers.

Where: Candleroom
What: Fire & Ice
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: The lounge is hosting DJ Marvel. Other goodies include a balloon drop, champagne toast, and party favors. Bottle service available.

Where: Cloud Nine in Reunion Tower
Start Time: 9 p.m.
Details: This private sister space to Five Sixty will delight guests with light bites from the restaurant, cocktails, bottle service, a complimentary champagne toats, a firework display, free valet, and a DJ spinning all night. Tickets are $200 a pop.

Where: Dave & Busters
What: D&B’s Dallas Drop
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: The adults-only NYE party starts at 8 p.m. and lasts until 2 a.m. A live DJ is in the house, raffle drawings are offered, along with prices, a champagne toast, balloon drop, food, and, obviously, lots of games.

Where: Double Wide
What: A Double Wide New Year’s Eve
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: A music lineup includes The Gorehounds, Party Static, Booty Stew, and DJs Gabe and Tiger Bee. The midnight champagne toast is actually beer. Cover is $10.

Where: The Dram
What: A Neon NYE
Start Time: 6 p.m.
Details: It’s no surprise a bright color-themed evening includes Ishi. The guest DJ os DJ Augat in collaboration with Grey Goose and Perrier Jouet. Party favors and neon things abound. The sooner you buy your entrance, the cheaper it is. It ranges from $35 to $50 at the door.

Where: Flying Saucer
Start Time: 10 p.m.
Details: The Garland location is hosting a live DJ until 1:30 a.m., a free champagne toast, bourbon and beer tappings all night, and raffles. Reservations accepted. Cover is $5 starting at 9 p.m.

Where: Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill
What: ‘X’ Year’s Eve
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Richard Rawlings hosts this party full starring live music by X. General admission ($30) gets you a midnight champagne toast, the open bar package ($75) lets you drink mixed drinks, beer, and champagne all night, the VIP table package ($200) includes admission and a reserved table. Party favors and a fireworks show happening at midnight. Tickets here.

What: PartyName
Start Time: 7 p.m.
Details: A “laid-back house party” offers dinners specials, shot specials, complimentary champagne, and party favors.

Where: House of Blues
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Each room is alight with different tunes. The main room with host the Old 97’s; the Cambridge Room hosts Pearl Gem, a Pearl Jam tribute band, and Mile Bell Peppers, a Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute; and the Voodoo Stage hosts the After Party Band with 90s top 40 dance hits.

Start Time: 9 p.m.
Details: Put on your party favors and dance to the tunes of live DJs. Expect a $5 cover after 9 p.m. and a $10 cover after 10 p.m.

Where: Iron Cactus
Start Time: 6 p.m.
Details: The dance party provides live entertainment from Lara Latin Band, party favors, and a champagne toast at midnight. Pay $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Where: Kessler Theater
Start Time: 7:30 p.m.
Details: Jack Ingram performs. Toast at midnight with great tunes. Tickets here.

Where: Kung Fu Saloon
What: A Moulin Rouge NYE Party
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: This Moulin Rouge-themed affair boasts no cover. Champagne toast happens at midnight. Bottle service available.

Where: Le Vú
What: PartyName
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Lady DJ duo Jane Doze is performing live. Supporting DJs include Rev, Mishal, and Efinity. Gift bags are going home with attendees. Enjoy a champagne toast and confetti and balloon drop. Tickets here. VIP options available.

Where: Milo Butterfingers
What: PartyName
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Enjoy party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, and no cover. Scotty’s black-eye peas and cornbread are served New Year’s Day.

Where: NYLO Plano
Start Time: 5:30 p.m.
Details: The Legacy hotel is offering sweet packages. For $199, get accommodations for two for the night, a dinner buffet for two, live entertainment and party favors, a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, and late checkout. That’s a nice detail.

Where: NYLO South Side
What: PartyName
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: The downtown hotel, along with a view, offers tunes by DJ Scott Pace, dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Terrace Bistro, and a champagne toast at midnight. Book in advance to secure a spot. Hotel packages offer room discounts. Tickets are $50 per person and $75 per couple.

Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Expect party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. No cover.

Where: Poor David’s Pub
What: PartyName
Start Time: 7:30 p.m.
Details: The Smokin’ Joe Kubek band is playing with B’nois King. A $25 ticket includes the show, party favors, black-eye peas, a champagne toast, and midnight countdown, during which everyone is invited on stage to sing Auld Lang Syne. (And hug a stranger.)

Where: Renfield’s Corner
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Put on your party favors and dance to the tunes of live DJs. Expect a $5 cover after 9 p.m. and a $10 cover after 10 p.m.

Where: Single Wide
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Music is a vinyl party of DJ Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. A beer “champagne” toast happens at midnight. No cover.

Where: South Side Music Hall
What: PartyName
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Larry g(EE) performs in concert with his fellow funk bandmates. A donated vintage Chevy truck is up for grabs through a raffle. Proceeds will benefit Dress for Success. Tickets here.

Where: W Hotel
What: PartyName
Start Time: 8 p.m.
Details: Enjoy live music from local DJs, champagne toasts, and party favors on the 33rd floor, where you’ll be able to watch Dallas’ firework displays. DJs are holding court in the downstairs Living Room Bar, too. The Living Room Bar is open to the public (although space is limited), but to get into the party upstairs, tickets are $100 per person. Bottle service available.
