So much to do this weekend! How are you going to decide? Do you skew toward wine dining, or is your vice a good costume party? (Liz also has a great list of Halloween events on Frontburner.) Take a look and pencil in your weekend before the spooky season ends.
FRIDAY
The Texas Food Truck Fest will be at the Arlington Ballpark this Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m., serving up a wide selection of dishes from a eclectic group of food trucks. If you’re game, tickets are $10 for Friday, $12 for Saturday, and $15 for both days. Child passes are $6.
Hotel St. Germain has another themed dinner from their “Lost Worlds” series coming up tonight and tomorrow night. This weekend’s theme is “Hidden Cities,” which features a Mini Treasure Hunt, among other specially tailored dinner options. Each night’s dinner starts at 7 p.m., and reservations are $95 per person.
This weekend, The Grape is celebrating its second year over-the-hill with a 41st birthday party. Chef Danyele McPherson will feature a three-course tasting menu on both Friday and Saturday. It’s $41 per person. How cute.
Today, from 6 to 8 p.m., stop by Reserve Wines for FREE homemade cakes and Halloween wines. Dionysus Wines is hosting the wine tasting, which features wines like “Vampire Pinot Grigio” and “Skull and Bones Zinfandel.” If you think the ‘ween theme is a little shoehorned, you probably haven’t had enough glasses yet.
SATURDAY
Lakewood Brewing Company is hosting their annual Halloween Tour, featuring the lovely sounds of Marisela from 12 to 3 p.m. The tour features special one-off brews that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s $10 to get in. Do it.
The Addison Conference Center is hosting the 4th Annual Dallas Chocolate Conference and Festival from 9 to 6 p.m. The festival will feature a number of local chefs and chocolatiers leading discussions, classes, and other activities. (I heard there might even be chocolate). Tickets range from $10 to $50 depending on the severity of your chocoholism.
Head over to the Kidd Springs Recreation Center from 12 to 6 p.m. for the 4th Annual Blues, Bandits, and BBQ Festival. It’s free to get in, but if you want to chow down on some quality ribs, you’re going to need the $20 or $25 tasting ticket. While you’re licking the sauce from your lips, be sure to catch the great blues musicians on stage. There’s also activities for kids. Everybody wins.
Two Corks and a Bottle is hosting a chocolate, cheese, and wine soiree from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. After indulging in a variety of chocolates, cheeses, and wines, you’ll be whisked away to delight yourself with visits to CocoAndre and Dude, Sweet Chocolate. It’s $50 and includes a private bus and access to all the goodness along the way.
Scardello’s is celebrating its 5th anniversary from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. with wine and a selection of cheeses from the cheesemonger himself. It’s free to get in, and $5 for a glass.
Does the thought of peanuts make you break out in hives? Are you tortured by nightmarish visions of bread? Your time has come. On Saturday and Sunday, the Gluten and Allergen-Free Expo will be at the Plano Convention Center. You’ll get to try samples, buy healthy products, and take free classes. Tickets range from $5-$35.
The Ginger Man is hosting their 2013 Halloween Party at 8 p.m. The night will include awesome beers from Saint Arnold, Dogfish, and more. Be sure to bring your best/sexiest/pop culturally relevant costume for the costume contest. It’s free to party.
SUNDAY
Ferrari’s Italian Villa is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a party! Woo. From 5 to 9 p.m. at the Grapevine location, you’ll find a complimentary buffet, a cash bar, and even a Sinatra impersonator – because what’s a party without one? Be sure to stop in.
3015 at Trinity Groves is hosting a celebrity chef dinner from 5-8 p.m. The chefs will include Graham Dodds, Uno Immanivong, Jeffery Hobbs, and more. Reservations are $50. Don’t miss out!
