Happy National Cheeseburger Day! Now Go Get One.

Gosh.

I’m not going to lie. My favorite meal in the whole world used to be a McDonald’s cheeseburger Happy Meal. You don’t know how many of those I bought just to get a Ty Teenie Beanie Baby. Pretty shameful. We used to buy four Happy Meals at one time. What can I say. I love the ’90s.

But thank every last burger patty we’ve left that decade behind us. (And that crazy Beanie Baby phase.) The Dallas cheeseburger scene is way better than it was twenty years ago. And, in case you haven’t figured out already, it’s National Cheeseburger Day. Hence, why I have procured all these food porny photos to celebrate the art of melty-gooey cheese and juicy meat between two crisp buns.

I apologize for all the pain I’m about to cause you. (Has that Maple and Motor cheeseburger gotten to you yet?) Still, jump with me. I’ve got some photos—in no particular order—that will make you start smelling cheeseburgers by the time you’re done reading. Lucky for you, Mutts Canine Cantina and Bowl & Barrel is offering $2 cheeseburgers today only.

Get melted Swiss cheese on your burger at this shack-of-a-place. Comes with crisp onions, fresh tomato slices, and lettuce. It tastes just like it looks. Maybe even better.

Patties are 6-ounces here, and you can get your burgers as customized as you want. The hot cheese and avocado are necessary components for a cheeseburger at this burger joint.

Muriel Street’s burger is one of the best that Nancy’s ever tasted. Back in her 2012 review, she wrote, “The patty is made from chopped vegetables, chickpeas, and grains, and it’s topped with Swiss cheese, avocado, and tomato, all served on a wheat bun spread with basil garlic aioli.”

I know this is a fast food chain, but you gotta love Five Guys. No? Don’t care? Well, this photo is awesome. And if it doesn’t make your mouth water, you’re hopeless.
