Marquee Grill and Bar, take three. And action.
Restaurateur Brian Twomey will introduce his third concept in the space originally known as Marquee Bar & Grill. The second restaurant was Village Marquee Texas Grill & Bar but even with the talented Andre Natera in the kitchen, the place wasn’t hitting the right numbers. So they shut down for a while, reconfigured the space and will reopen as two restaurants and a bar.
The first, Village Kitchen, will open on Thursday. Natera “promises an approachable yet playful menu in a comfortable and casual setting.” They will be open for lunch and dinner and feature a kid’s menu. Brunch will be introduced in the fall. Natera will feature one particular entrée “unique to that day.” Some of the items offered will include such items as roasted chicken with quinoa pilaf, BBQ ribs, tomato and crispy burrata salad, and a Pecan Lodge smoked brisket flatbread with daily chalkboard specials ranging from fried chicken with bacon and chive waffles to lobster Thermidor. The downstairs dining room seats up to 54 and the outdoor patio holds another 38 seats. The bar menu will feature an extensive list of craft beers on tap, a variety of house cocktails as well as sangria by the pitcher and frozen margaritas.

UPPITY DATE: Toko V, the Asian and sushi restaurant under construction upstairs, will open in late September. Daniel Chau, formerly head sushi chef at Steel, is the sushi chef.
