Last week, Dean Fearing and Kent Rathbun headed to Cabo San Lucas to join Tim Hollingsworth (French Laundry) and executive chef Yvan Mucharraz and Chef Lauren Sung Wong Tee (Capella Pedregal), for the 2nd Annual Food and Wine Festival at Capella Pedregal. After the food festivities, Fearing rocked out with Sammy Hagar at his Cabo Wabo Cantina. “Sammy asked me to join him on stage,’ says Fearing. “I played his famous red Stratocaster during the show.”
The next night, Fearing and Rathbun, and their crew of sous, headed to the Red Rocker’s house in Cabo to make a chicken fried steak for Hagar and his wife Kari (an Austin gal!). Fearing and Hagar have “been buds” for 25 years.
