Bits & Bites: Things to Do and Chew in Dallas This Weekend, July 5-7

|

Sorry for those of you who have to be back at work today, but, hey, it’s Friday already. There are a few things coming up this weekend to continue Independence Day celebrations, plus a few other options. As you are reading this, I am continuing my July 4 fun and headed to the lake. Wee! Have a great weekend.

Friday

Max’s Wine Dive has been celebrating the fourth all week long with its Red, White, and Bubbles special that gives some kind of discount on all bottles of wine. But the real party is today from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The dive is hosting a patio cookout party with wine specials, food, and their new wine-based cocktail menu. It’s the perfect way to continue the holiday festivities.

Not looking for wine? Holy Grail Pub is celebrating with beer and barbecue. ‘Merica.

Saturday

My Private Chef is hosting a four-course wine dinner featuring Calais Wines. The menu is kept secret, but produce and meats will be sourced 100% locally. Reservations closed last night, but you could call and see if there are any tickets left. Worth a shot.

Sunday

After all the meat and beer from the holiday celebrations, you might be looking for something healthy. Well, Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation Center is teaching a few simple and easy to do vegetarian recipes. You can get tickets here. The class is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The dinners at Twenty at the Tower are coming to an end. The last two are Sunday and Monday nights. The chefs lined up for these last two are probably good ones.
