Farm to Market Report: Weekend of October 13-14

Seriously, enough with these bipolar temperatures. One minute I am shivering on the walk to work, and the next I am peeling off my sweater and ordering iced lattes. If you are a summer enthusiast you’ll be excited to hear that temperatures look to be on the rise for the coming weekend. But don’t worry, I have the perfect remedy for us cold weather mourners! The Tamale Company is giving away coupons for their famed pumpkin tamales (aka “gluten-free handheld pumpkin pie”) at select markets. Click here for a coupon that you can use online or at any farmers market.

Market news is a little slow this week, but that doesn’t mean there will be any shortage of vendors. Head out to your farmers market of choice because (fingers crossed) these warm temperatures won’t be around for long.

Coppell Farmers Market: Come out this weekend to get your knifes tuned up before you are bombarded with holiday cooking. Jack Gresham from Mobile Knife Sharpening will be on site for all your sharpening needs.

793 S. Coppell Rd.
Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Jump for more markets.

Dallas Farmers Market: This weekend’s American Institute of Wine and Food’s cooking class features Amici Signature Italian’s Bartolino Cocuzza. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. for this Italian market themed class.

1010 S. Pearl Expressway
Daily, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Frisco Farmers Market: The countdown is on! There are only two weekends left in Frisco’s regular season. Check out Truth Hill Farms’ pork sausage, ground pork, pork roast, and pork steak.  Who knew pork came in so many variations?

6048 Frisco Square Blvd.
Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Four Seasons Market: There will be more than 25 vendors at Four Seasons this weekend, stocked with everything from gazpacho to luxury soaps. Click here to see who’s going.

677 W. Campbell Rd.
Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Grand Prairie Farmers Market: This Saturday is Grand Prairie’s Harvest Fair. Head that way if you’re in the mood for food trucks (think Yum Yum and Soldiah’s BBQ). Enjoy special fall activities, including a gift market, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, pumpkin bowling, a pumpkin toss, a pumpkin patch, and face painting. This event is great for kids! Plus, be on the lookout for the Tamale Company’s pumpkin tamales this weekend. Use the coupon to your right for $2 off.

120 W. Main St.
Saturday, 8:00 a.m.  –  1:00 p.m.

White Rock Local Market It’s the second Saturday of the month, so that means White Rock Local Market is open for business! This weekend is an “everything” themed weekend featuring all farmers, food artisans, and arts and crafts. Alpha Omega Acres will definitely be there with pork chops ($8.50/lb), sliced bacon ($7.25/lb), mild breakfast sausage ($7.25/lb).

702 North Buckner Blvd
8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

*Rockwall Farmers Market is closed for the season.
*Celebration Farmers Market has also closed for the regular season, but be sure to check back next week for a list of their holiday events.
