Things To Eat and Drink This Week: Oct. 31-Nov. 6

Tuesday (Nov. 1)

Beer and cheese pairing class at MozzCo. There’s nothing not to like about this.

BrewsDay Tuesday at the Common Table.

Wednesday (Nov. 2)

Dia de la Dulce Vida Dallas at Wild Salsa. The last time I drank an agave-based spirit, it was Cinco de Mayo two years ago and it did not end well for me. But if there’s any reason to advocate for shots of liquid crazy (or, you know, margaritas), it’s the Texas Wildfire Relief Fund. Dulce Vida Tequila, based in Austin, will donate the proceeds from sales at Wild Salsa to helping people rebuild their lives.

Thursday (Nov. 3)

FrontRow Live. Support our arts blog, FrontRow, at this free event at the Dallas Contemporary. There will be beer, coffee from Pearl Cup, and many, many food trucks.

Friday (Nov. 4)

Friday Night Flight. On the first Friday of every month, Nana puts forth a steal: a trio of small plates with wine pairings for 20 bucks.

First Friday at the Modern. I have a friend who’s convinced that Cafe Modern does some of the best brunch around. They don’t usually stay open for dinner, so this is one chance to eat there late. And also, check out the cool new Richard Diebenkorn exhibit.

Saturday (Nov. 5)

Dallas Wine Trail. The folks at Calais Winery, Fuqua Winery, Times Ten Cellars, and Inwood Estates and Vineyard are opening their doors for wine tastings, snacks, and meet and greets with the local people behind these establishments. Participants also get a bottle of wine, a souvenir wine glass, and a map of the trail.

Winefest. Dionysus, the god of wine, is eagerly anticipating the ninth annual Winefest from his humble abode on Mount Olympus. Join in for a selection of wines from Texas and the 49 other states, plus bites from area restaurants like Buttons, Chow Thai, Clay Pit, Blue Mesa, and more.
