    Finally got to try Maple & Motor for the first time on Tuesday night. So glad to report that it’s worth the hype. Veggies were fresh, substantial amount of crisp bacon, and no dastardly mayo trying to sneak in as a condiment. My favorite burger in Dallas was at Angry Dog, but I’m replacing it with the bacon cheeseburger that I had at M&M.

    Lunch at Tei An. The buckwheat tea is perfect on cold days, and especially paired with the awesome soba with duck meatball. Coworker had the cold soba sampler, which was also flawless.

  • Borracho Taco downtown – Fabulous brisket tacos! Really nice people, too.

    Goodfriend Beer Garden – We’ve gone back a few times. Very tasty fried green beans. A whole list of fun burgers. I love the Redneck with bologna and Miracle Whip. A friend had the waffle battered chicken sandwich las night. Huge! My favorite might be the Bad Dog. My new best hotdog in Dallas.

    Pepe & Mitos – Wonderful, as usual! Definitely my favorite Mexican food in Dallas. Chipotle wine sauce is the best!

    Just had lunch at Stackhouse. It is on Gaston by Baylor. Very good burger! Neat atmosphere. Highly reccommended.

    Lunch Monday at Highland Park Cafeteria in Casa Linda.
    Beats the hell out of Luby’s! And having someone playing the piano makes for a very calming and delicious lunch.

    Lunch Tuesday at Riverside Grill. It’s like a smaller version of Mama Daughter’s Diner but, the food is much better.

    Lunch Wednesday at Cane Rosso. What can I say other than, sensational! We did the lunch for two for $20.00. We shared a large Caesar salad with extra (delicious) white anchovies.
    An “Ella” pizza with hot soppressata. Ice tea (or, any soft beverage) for two is included. $20 bucks plus tax and tip total for two of us.

  • Literally just finished off a porchetta & provolone sandwich with spicy broccolini @ Nonna. Wow.

    I have to brag about the great service and food my husband and I experienced at Wild Salsa this week. We each got 3 of their “street” style tacos so we could sample each type. I decided to swap my rice and beans for their “black bean cake” which we both agreed was one of the best parts of the whole meal. Our server was attentive and gave us great suggestions. He even offered to replace a margarita we ordered for someone that was late meeting us so it wasn’t melted when they arrived. Overall nice casual weeknight dinner spot.

    Went to Taverna on Tuesday to enjoy some delicious Italian food and a glass of wine on their patio before the cold front came through. Wonderful, as always. I have never had a bad meal at Taverna. I can’t get enough of that place.

    @Twinwillow- I have always seen that Riverside Grill and wondered about it! Will not be scared to check it out now. (on Industrial, right?)

    @mlh. Correct. On Riverside. Don’t expect anything special other than a good old, “meat and three” blue collar working man’s lunch. I had beef tips (that days special) over mashed potatoes with gravy, black eyed peas and, collard greens. Everything was delicious.
    My lunch mate had chicken fried chicken which he said was good but very salty.

    Happened upon Dough Pizzeria about 5:00 on Friday and they have introduced a new Italian Tapas deal during Happy Hour (they have some Italian name for it but I don’t remember what it was called). Anyway, for $6 you get to fill a plate full of the most unbelieveable italian bites of wonderfullness to delight on while you enjoy drink specials. I enjoyed slow roasted pork shoulder on top of polenta cakes and some sort of roasted shrimp yummyness just to name a few. I’m telling you, it was some of the best food I have had in some time, and a great deal! I believe they said they are doing it every week day afternoon until 6PM. Delish!

    Saturday- Dish. So so good, pork chops, peanut salad, lamb lollipops.
    Sunday- Bolsa. country pate, beet salad, ny strip (overcooked). Great service, they even brought us champagne, and mexican weeding cookies for our anniversary. Server: Stephen. p.s.- GET THE GINGER MINT GIMLET
