Somebody Help This Poor Boy: Unidentified Parisian Treat

Two things about boys: they don’t ask for directions when they are lost and they don’t bother to find out the name of what they are eating until they want it again. Listen to this one:

I first encountered this tasty treat while walking past a street vendor in Paris. It is a custard tart of some kind, I have never figured out the actual name. The are available everywhere in Paris from bakeries to street vendors and SO tasty. Please help!

Well, he at least took a picture and said please. Okay, let’s get busy.

The name is correct but where can you find this IN Dallas?

See if Rush has one in normal rotation or might make one special for you.

Hmm sure looks like buttermilk pie(egg and buttermilk custard with nutmeg and lemon zest) to me LOL maybe that’s the southerner in me. I would try searching for that recipe if I were you, Emeril has a recipe on the food network website. It’s on my top five best desserts list but is on the sweet side. It deserves a recioto di soave along side. Happy eating!

Yes, I have found multiple recipes online, but I have not found anyone in town who just HAS it. I suppose I can contact Rush and see about a special order. Just wondered why this is such a scarce/non-existent item in town?
