September 12: Your Food Truck Schedule and News in Dallas

By George Lewis |
Image

The weather is finally below 100 degrees and the food trucks are reporting smiling faces, longer lines, more sales, and thoughts of adding second trucks.  One truck told SideDish that since the temperatures have dropped, his sales have tripled.

This week, we add TrailerCakes to the schedule, although they are only out next Saturday.  City Street Grille is snuggling up with Robbins Jewelers in North Dallas for Tuesday-Friday lunch and is bringing back their Rolled Gold chicken and waffles.  Jack’s Chowhound is looking for a new cook, as his cook jumped ship truck to a competitor.  Although still heavily focused on their private events, Ruthie’s will be out on the public streets a couple of more times this week.  Ssahm’s schedule is back, having been guilted by a SideDish commentor.  It seems that no one wants to work breakfast, with only Gandolfo’s serving on Friday morning.

SideDish has confirmed that Chi-lantro Korean BBQ from Austin is planning on a food truck in Dallas some time in 2012.  Still in the unconfirmed category is a rumor that LA’s Kogi BBQ will roll a truck here.

Again, check Facebook and Twitter feeds.  Fryers break, cooks quit, and sometimes trucks don’t start .

Update: Jack (Jack’s Chowhound) found a cook, so is operational again.
