Dallas’ finest chocolatiers and a full day of chocolate education
DallasChocolate.org is proud to announce the return of the Chocolate Conference. Last year’s inaugural event was hailed as “the hot ticket in town this weekend for foodies” by D Magazine’s Side Dish and “a chocoholic’s dream” by the Dallas Morning News. This year’s promises to be even better. Already scheduled to participate are acclaimed chocolate maker Shawn Askinosie (Askinosie Chocolate) from Missouri and local chocolatiers Wiseman House Chocolate, Coco André, and Dr. Sue’s Chocolate. Many more chocolatiers will be announced soon.
The Chocolate Conference 2011 has two main components: A Showcase of Chocolate and a Chocolate Academy. The Showcase of Chocolate will be an exhibition hall where attendees can sample chocolates from all participating chocolatiers and chocolate makers. In the Chocolate Academy, attendees can hear talks throughout the day about the making, use, and history of fine chocolate. The Academy will start with the Chocolatier’s Roundtable — a free-flowing discussion with all participating chocolatiers.
More details about the Chocolate Conference 2011 including pricing, participating chocolatiers and chocolate makers, and complete Chocolate Academy schedule will be announced at DallasChocolate.org. The Adolphus Hotel (www.hoteladolphus.com) is the official hotel sponsor of the Chocolate Conference 2011. In 1912 fortune, flamboyance, and fame came together to produce the “grande dame of grand hotels.” Beer baron Adolphus Busch, founder of The Adolphus, chose to honor his adopted city of Dallas with twenty-one stories of baroque splendor. Critics have called this Texas landmark, “the most beautiful building west of Venice.” Its fine-dining restaurant – The French Room – is the only restaurant in Texas to receive the AAA Five Diamond Award in 2010.
