Last year’s inaugural event was hailed as “the hot ticket in town this weekend for foodies” by D Magazine’s Side Dish and “a chocoholic’s dream” by the Dallas  Morning News. This year’s promises to be even better. Already scheduled to participate are acclaimed chocolate maker Shawn Askinosie (Askinosie Chocolate) from Missouri and local chocolatiers Wiseman House Chocolate, Coco André, and Dr. Sue’s Chocolate. Many more chocolatiers will be announced soon.

The Chocolate Conference 2011 has two main components: A Showcase of Chocolate and a Chocolate Academy. The  Showcase of Chocolate will be an exhibition hall where attendees can sample chocolates from all participating chocolatiers and chocolate makers. In the Chocolate Academy, attendees can hear talks throughout the day about the making, use, and history of fine chocolate. The Academy will start with the Chocolatier’s Roundtable — a free-flowing discussion with all participating chocolatiers.
