What I’m Drinking Now: Valentine’s Cocktails

Hearts of POM
Though bubbly may be the signature drink for lovers on Valentine’s Day, there are some romantic, fun and flirty cocktails that are sure to put your Valentine in the mood for love. 
Here are a few ideas sure to please any palate and add a bit of kick to your romantic n:

Hearts of Pom
2 oz Riazul Premium Silver tequila
1 oz pomegranate juice
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 pomegranate (optional)
Mix together ice, Riazul silver, pomegranate juice, Cointreau and lime juice into a cocktail shaker.  Shake and strain into a glass. Garnish with a few pomegranate seeds.

Bramble en Rose
2 parts Hendrick’s Gin
1 part St-Germain
½ part Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
4-6 Fresh Blackberries
Lightly muddle blackberries in a rocks glass. Stir with remaining ingredients and crushed ice. Garnish with a blackberry and a rose petal

Passion Fruit Margarita (by Ignacio Cubillos of Jorge’s Tex Mex, Dallas)
1.5 oz Casa Noble Tequila
1 oz Passion Fruit Puree, Napa Valley
.5 oz Cointreau
Dash of Lime 
Pour ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Pour into a glass rimmed with salt.

Imperial Martini (Introduced to me by Don Winspear)
2 oz. Russian Standard Imperia vodka
1/3 oz Remy VSOP Cognac
Pour over ice and shake well, strain into a chilled martini glass.  Garnish with a lemon twist.

The Sweet Betty Shooter
1 oz Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka
1 oz Chambord
Splash of Lemon
Served in a shot glass

Love In The FIG City

Love In The FIG City

2 oz Partida Reposado Tequila
1/2 oz Fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz Ginger Liqueur
1/2 oz Cinnamon syrup
3/4 oz Fig puree or half a fresh fig
Mionetto Brut Prosecco
Muddle, shake and fine strain over ice into a rocks glass. Top with Mionetto Brut Prosecco and garnish with a fresh fig wheel.
