Proceeds from each OMG S'mores kit feed 16 poeple.

Mid-afternoon slumps (like we were facing today) may be a bitch, but they’re nothing compared to the hunger plight affecting thousands of children and adults right here in North Texas.

So, naturally we perked up when we received a visit this afternoon from the s’mores fairy (aka Stacy Fawcett), the motivating force behind OMG S’mores, a delicious fundraiser benefiting the North Texas Food Bank.

Here’s the skinny: the OMG S’mores kits that Fawcett has created hold enough ingredients for 16 s’mores (graham crackers, marshmallows, Hershey’s chocolate, skewers) and come packaged in a three-foot cylinder. Proceeds from each $15 kit sold provide 16 meals for the North Texas Food Bank.

Apart from these being delicious (of course we taste tested) and easy, they make excellent hostess gifts and stocking stuffers. We plan to squirrel away several tubes for those last minute drop-ins and open houses.

Fawcett, whose goal is to provide 100,000 meals through this fundraiser, is extraordinarily friendly and ready to help you help her help others. Just visit OMG S’mores on Facebook or email [email protected] to find out how to purchase your own stockpile (she’s happy to come to you). Even better, share the idea with your co-workers. You know they’ll want to participate.
