The World’s First Solar-Powered Chili Cook-off Goes Down This Weekend

|

Soon enough I will abandon my magazine editing job to become a full-time judge of culinary competitions. Word has apparently gotten out, after that gig in Oak Cliff, that if you’re having a cook-off of any sort, yours truly has to be on the judging panel if you want your event to be a success. That’s the only way to explain how I was tapped to help judge the Solar-Powered Chili Cook-off at the White Rock Local Market this Saturday. Either that or I know the owner of the Green Spot, where the event will be held. Hard to say.

In any case, if you’ve got a chili recipe, a sawbuck, and a crock pot, then you’ve got what it takes to enter. Serving with me on the panel will be that blowhard Gordon Keith, of Sports Ticket 1310 fame, and the real star of the panel, KERA’s Krys Boyd. Come on out and let’s eat meat.
