Celebrity Chef Event: Burgers and Burgundy Event Benefits DIFFA in Dallas

On Friday, chef John Tesar will host Burgers & Burgundy, and celebuchef event benefiting DIFFA. All of the details of the evening that features 11 other big name chefs and a big deal live auction are below. Yes, tickets are still available.

“Dallas, TX — Eleven celebrity chefs will join Chef John Tesar on the rooftop deck at The House in Victory Park, Friday, October 15 for the second annual Burgers & Burgundy event benefiting The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS: DIFFA. Their mission: serve up their best burger to raise funds for the Foundation which for over 20 years has been instrumental in raising money to directly help those living with HIV and AIDS.

“I’m thrilled to bring together my brands and my peers for what I hope will be an annual flourishing event for DIFFA,” comments Chef Tesar. “Under the bun, our sliders will be grilled and assembled to raise awareness and monies for DIFFA and AIDS service organizations in North Texas. With its downtown view of Dallas, The House will be the perfect place to sip and see while indulging in great burgers, music and wine.”

Chefs joining the rooftop barbecue at The House in Victory Park include John Tesar, Culinary Director DRG Concepts; Nick Stellino, Celebrity Chef, Author and Host of the PBS Series Cooking With Friends; RJ Cooper, Chef and James Beard award winner (from Washington, DC); Stephan Pyles with Matt McCallister, Stephan Pyles and Samar by Stephan Pyles; Kent Rathbun, Chef/Proprietor Kent Rathbun Concepts; Tim Byres, Executive Chef/Owner SMOKE, Scott Romano, Executive Chef Charlie Palmer, Dan Landsberg, Executive Chef Tillman’s Roadhouse, Samir Dhurandhar, Executive Chef Nick and Sam’s; Sharon Van Meter, President SVM Productions; Kevin Williamson, Chef Ranch 616 and the Gage Hotel; and Brian Luscher, Chef/Owner The Grape

At a satellite bar, master mixologist Michael Martensen will be chipping ice and will be serving Zacapa on the “Rock”. Essentially “rum on a perfect cube,” comments Martensen.

“We are so excited to have nationally and locally acclaimed chefs and Whole Foods on board to help raise funds for DIFFA and the ASO’s who now more than ever need our help,” says Mark Stafford, DIFFA Board of Trustee Chairman.  “We truly appreciate their donation of time, product and expertise.”

Popular Dallas DJs Jennifer Miller and Paul Paredes will be spinning poolside.  Sponsors to date include Whole Foods, The House, Digital 3 Printing, Fresh Point, Ben E. Keith, and Victory Park.

Burgers and Burgundy takes place Friday, October 15 from 6 – 10:00PM. Tickets for Burgers & Burgundy are $75 per person.
