We went out last night, tried Mario Sabinos in Dallas. Only went there because it was in the news. I have to say, it was packed but we were seated immediately. There were six of us. Items ordered: Beef Fajitas, BBQ Ribs, kid’s chicken strips, Shrimp Cocktail, Fried Shrimp and Pollo Asado (chicken). Everyone said the food was great, i didn’t try the kids chick, but the big hit was the ribs… I mean awesome! and very cheap, with drinks, the bill was like under $70. I had to do a double-take!

Riley, Mark Sabinos is not on the Restaurant Week list (as far as I can tell). Was this a Restaurant Week meal of some kind?

We went to Bailey’s Prime Plus across from Northpark on Friday (their first night of restaurant week). Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the special menu because they informed us that everyone at the table had to order from it or no dice. We had to ask specifically for the RW menus, and they refused to cook the steak at anything other than medium (picturing a conveyor belt coming off of the grill?). While our (regular menu) meals were delicious, I glimpsed other tables enjoying their identical RW meals and the filet medallions did look tasty…

I am trying Sambuca tonight and Jasper’s on Friday, so hopefully will have more to report later.

Had dinner at Dallas Chop House on Friday night, great menu for 35 dollars and way better then the first meal I had dinner there. Great steak and swordfish dish. Trying the Stephen Pyles next week
