Update: The Second Floor.

    Had the most wonderful RW dinner at The Second Floor last night….a treat from the chef started the experience – watermelon, tomato and basil bite…was so refreshing!! My dinner guests and I had the watermelon basil salad which was a large salad filled with juicy watermelon and mozzarella…the tangy dressing was perfect and very light. We also tried the english pea soup. I’m not usually a pea soup fan, but with the truffles and goat cheese, i literally wanted to lick the bowl clean.

    For the main course, I had the short rib. Large piece of tender meat, lightly crusted…melt in your mouth tender. Served with “crispy baby carrots”…I could have eaten a whole plate of these – tempura battered baby carrots..with a hunt of sweet and spice. The risotto was excellent as well…

    For dessert one table mate had the coffee pot au creme…with chocolate beignets. It was gone so fast I didn’t even get a taste, but he said it was excellent!

    I swayed from the regular RW menu and chose the “corn cake” for dessert. Warm house made caramel corn, blueberry ice cream and a warm corn cake with “popcorn” caramel. I was seriously considering licking my plate.

    Service was excellent as well, drinks stayed filled, table stayed clean, our server, Chris, was very helpful in choosing our dishes…we very much enjoyed our meal here and will most definitely be going back.

    Most excellent. I’m eating at The Second Floor tonight, and now I’m even more excited (if that’s possible). I was introduced to pot du creme at Neighborhood Services with their sensational butterscotch version. One of the only dessert flavors I like more than butterscotch is coffee, so I really can’t wait!
