Oklahoma Red vs. Texas Orange

If  you are a die hard Texas fan, or think the Sooners can do no wrong, start your morning showing your UT or OU pride via your cocktail.  Two of breakfast’s favorite libations will get you in the game day spirit.  Here are a few ideas to spike up your morning prior to kick off.

Classic Bloody Mary
1.5 oz Vodka
6 oz Tomato Juice
1 oz lime juice
4 dashes Tobasco
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Dash pepper
Dash celery salt
Garnish with a celery stalk

 Amy Severson passed along a Bloody Mary recipe last year that added jalapeno infused vodka to the classic recipe.  Tasty, tasty.

 Bloody Bull
4 dashes of Tabasco Sauce
1 teaspoon of horseradish
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 ounces vodka 
6 ounces Tomato juice
Dash pepper
Fresh Green onion 

La Michelada
4 dashes Tabasco Sauce
4 dashes Worcestershire Sauce
Dash Salt and Pepper
1 Lime wedge
12 oz Beer (your favorite but Mexican beer like a Corona is perfect)
2 ounces Tomato juice

Bloody Maru
2 oz Sake
4 drops Worcestershire Sauce
2 drops Tabasco Sauce
½ oz Horseradish
1 oz Lime Juice
6 oz Tomato Juice
1 pinch salt/pepper

OR

Classic Screwdriver
2 ounces Vodka
6 ounces Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice 
Garnish with an orange slice

Key West Screwdriver
2 oz Vodka
6 oz Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
1 oz lime juice

Southern Screwdriver
2 oz Southern Comfort
6 oz Orange Juice

Cordless Screwdriver
1 oz chilled Spiced Vodka, poured into a shot glass.
Drink, and follow by biting into an orange wedge coated with superfine sugar

Or, mix it up a bit with a little of both the red and the orange.

 Big Red Screwdriver
1 oz Vodka
4 oz orange juice 
2 oz strawberry soda
ice
