“Organic” is Starting to Make Me Crabby

OK kids, here’s the deal. We know the basic differences between good food and bad food, right? If you subsist on pizza, burgers, and beer, chances are you will be overweight and not as healthy as you could be. Conversely, if you eat whole foods, fruits, and vegetables, it can be argued that you will be healthier.  I realize that my analysis is a gross oversimplification, but stay with me. Last week I got a press release announcing a new “scented organic water.” What. Ever. Today, a nice young lady left me a voice mail about a new “certified organic cocktail mix” she is promoting. Am I just being a crusty old crab when I dismissed the product before I’d even listened to her whole message? Organic cocktails?  It makes me wonder: If I drank 10 gin and certified-organic-cocktail-mix cocktails would I get an organic hangover? Is an organic hangover better than a non-organic hangover? If I drank them slowly would I be part of the Slow Food movement? I am so confused over all of this foodie PC-ness. Maybe I should call her back and arrange a tasting.
