So the groovy news is that Kent Rathbun is joining up with Anthony Bourdain to do a doozie of a dinner at Jasper’s on Thursday, November 20. The less-than-groovy news is that the dynamic duo will be doing their thang at The Woodlands location. Big Daddy, hear our plea: we’d be happy to make reservations to a similar dinner here in Big D. Wassup? However, if you’re up for a trip down I-45, jump for details. If you want to sit in my cube and protest until Rathbun and Bourdain come to Dallas, come on over. Paciugo just set a cart up in the hallway and Timmy has a bottle of vodka. Good times.

‘RESERVATIONS REQUIRED’ AS CHEF KENT RATHBUN JOINS FORCES WITH CHEF ANTHONY BOURDAIN AT JASPER’S

The Woodlands Location Hosts an Unforgettable Four-Course Meal and a Chance to Dine with Two of Today’s Top Celebrity Chefs

DALLAS (August 25, 2008)–Unlike the title of Anthony Bourdain’s popular Travel Channel series, “No Reservations,” it will be important to secure a seat to enjoy a very special meal with two of the country’s top celebrity chefs at “Reservations Required: An Evening with Kent Rathbun and Anthony Bourdain” on Thursday, November 20 at Jasper’s Restaurant in The Woodlands. This one-of-a-kind dinner is being co-sponsored by Jasper’s Restaurant and The John Cooper School’s 4thAnnual Signatures Author Series that will feature Bourdain as the keynote author.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, a book signing and a short question-and-answer session with Anthony Bourdain, followed by a four-course meal prepared by Jasper’s, one of the many concepts of executive chef and owner Kent Rathbun of Abacus restaurant in Dallas, and Jasper’s restaurants in The Woodlands, Plano and Austin.

An added perk to the evening will be the chance to sit with Chefs Rathbun and Bourdain for dinner. “We will hold a drawing from the names of all who have a reservation and the celebrity chefs will sit at the table of the name drawn,” said Cooper’s Director of Development Troye Skipworth. Seating for the dinner is limited to 200 guests. Reservations are $250 apiece and will be taken beginning at 9 a.m. on September 2 on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“We are delighted to be able to offer an evening that unites two chefs of this caliber,” said Signatures Author Series chairperson Amy Lecocq. “We urge everyone who is interested in participating in this special evening to secure a reservation early.”
