school supplies

I still get giddy about  the idea of new school supplies… Fresh no.2 pencils, a thick ream of college-ruled paper, sharp crayons, a stack of pristine Pee Chee folders (I’m dating myself here)? Count me in. Unfortunately, for so many kiddos in our fair city these school year necessitates are decidedly out of reach. But we can help.  The amazing Community Partners of Dallas organization is hoping to provide uniforms and backpacks filled with age-appropriate school supplies to more than 2,000 abused and neglected children in the Dallas area, and they need our donations to make it happen.

You can view a complete list of needed supplies on the Community Partners of Dallas website. Once you’ve got the goods, you can drop your donation at
Community Partners of Dallas’ Central Location during regular business hours or at any Metroplex The Container Store location through the end of August. Backpacks, construction paper, writing tablets, dividers, rulers, scissors, watercolor sets, and index cards are the items the organization needs most.

Don’t have time to shop and deliver? You can also make a financial donation, and Community Partners of Dallas will happily do the shopping for you. Bonus for those of you that decide to donate money: because of their bulk purchasing abilities, every $1 donated is equal to $4 worth of school supplies and uniforms.

Happy giving!
