The weekend is here. Huzzah!

My crew is going to keep things simple and camp out in our pool for, well, pretty much the entire next 48 hours (holy hot Bat Man). We are, however, planning to get out of the water for a spell on Sunday when we’ll head down to Oak Cliff for a little early independence day celebrating with The Yankee Doodles at Oil and Cotton.

The morning event designed to teach the future to learn from the past (something we should be doing more of, IMHO) features songs, crafts, and historical fun focusing on The American Revolution. Crafts and reception begin at 11 a.m., with a sing along at 11:30. Admission is free.

See you there!
