We’ve had the immense pleasure of working with the amazingly talented Dallas photographer Mei-Chun Jau on numerous occasions (she took the photo that adorns our editors page), and we walk away from each experience even more enamored with her…

Not only is she incredibly gifted at her craft, but she approaches life in a thoughtful, soulful way that never fails to inspire.

She is, without a doubt, a Dallas mom that we love

So without further ado, here’s a little peek into Mei-Chun’s world to take you into the weekend.  Have a splendid one friends!

On heavy rotation – DJ Sasha (Invol2ver album), Michael Jackson (Off the Wall album – my son’s favorite), Radiohead (Ok Computer), Getz/Gilberto, Arcade Fire, MGMT, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Thievery Corporation, Ladytron, Esthero, Mazzy Star, Sade, Beyoncé, and Bee Gees 🙂

On your nightstand – Two books authored by my talented friends. A Tiger in the Kitchen by Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan and Chalk Line by Paula LaRocque.

Always in your handbag – bottled water, iPhone, lip glosses – Laura Mercier in Opal or NARS in Greek Holiday, Listerine PocketPaks Cool Mint, black elastic hair tie and Ray-Ban sunglasses

Go-to outfit – I’m pretty simple….anything with my favorite color grey that doesn’t require a lot of ironing and the fabric must be soft. I love wearing my Vera Wang flats when I know I’m going to be on my feet for several hours on a photo shoot. They are so comfy!

No-brainer restaurant – Bolsa, La Duni, Tei Tei, Coal Vines, Cosmic Cafe, Spiral Diner, Green Papaya, Maxim’s for dim sum, and ChoSun Korean BBQ.
