five questions — kristie ramirez

You know the scenario…you’re out with your kiddos say, schlepping through the Whole Foods, sporting jeans, the same shirt you’ve worn for three days and a pair of rockin’ shoes (because you decided to put in a little extra effort), and you spot “her” across the produce asile.  She happens to be donning all the same components (the aforementioned jean, top, rockin’ shoe combo) but she somehow looks, well… so much cooler.

If this has happened to you, the sartorial dynamo across the asile was more than likely the subject of this week’s “five questions”, Kristie Ramirez. The woman knows her clothes…but in an intelligent, utterly covetable way (in one fail swoop she squashes every single stereotype about “Dallas style”).  I try to console myself with the fact that fashion is her business (contributing over the years to D MagazineLucky, Texas Monthly and F!DLuxe among other publications), and I frequent her blog, Texas Style and Substance, regularily to glean inspiration.

So of course we had to pick Kristie’s brain a bit.  Herewith her answers…Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend!
