Sink your teeth into this: The Biscuit Bar, a fast-growing Southern concept launched by local husband and wife Jake and Janie Burket in Plano–and later in University Park–is set to open its third location this November in Deep Ellum.

The Epic, where Uber plans to put 3,000 workers

The new location is the first of five expected across North Texas. Future locations include Arlington, Coppell, Fort Worth, and Abilene.

The 2,562 square-foot eatery will be housed at The Epic, a mixed-use project combining office, residential, and a boutique hotel at 2550 Pacific Ave, that recently was announced as the landing spot for the regional headquarters for Uber–we hope they like carbs.

The Epic hosts 55,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space. It was announced earlier this year that about 20,000 of those square feet would be dedicated to Komodo, a massive Miami clubstuarant, on the ground floor of the office tower and 2,500 square feet of exterior seating for the contemporary Southeast Asian eatery.

The Hoss

On the other side of the spectrum, The Biscuit Bar centers around family recipes for biscuits and gravy, serving up dishes like The Hoss, which is filled with southern fried chicken, bacon, Jack cheese, house-made sausage gravy and honey butter and The Philly with seasoned ribeye steak, sautéed green peppers and onions, topped with melted jack cheese and sriracha mayo.

Specialty cocktails options range from the Booze Croose with blue Curacao, coconut rum, white rum, pineapple, lemon berry acai to Grannies Apples with silver tequila, sour apple, agave nectar, and soda.

While all locations offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night menus, the Deep Ellum destination will have extended late-night hours and Monday through Friday early-morning happy hour from 7 to 10 a.m. to cater to the night shift medical employees nearby.

Regular happy hour is from 3 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close Monday through Friday.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to midnight on Sundays.

To celebrate the Deep Ellum opening, the restaurant will host a grand opening party from 8 to 11 p.m. Nov. 21. Guests can enjoy the usual biscuits & tots as well as discounted $3 cocktails to celebrate the third location as they enjoy beats made by DJR Music and balloon installation by EZ Party Time.

The Biscuit Bar plans to open its locations in Arlington, 1707 N. Collins St., Fort Worth, at the Stockyards’ Mule Alley, and Coppell, 104 S. Denton Tap Road, during the first-quarter of 2020. Their joint venture with Abilene Christian University will open in the second-quarter.
