Personnel Moves: CBRE

CBRE announces new assignments for several key execs, including Dallas-based Global CEO of Real Estate Development Mike Lafitte and Global COO Chris Kirk, effective Jan. 1.

CBRE Group announced its Global CEO of advisory services, Mike Lafitte, will step into the role of Global CEO of real estate investments, effective Jan. 1, 2020. In addition, Chris Kirk will become the Global Chief Operating Officer. Both Lafitte and Kirk are based in CBRE’s Dallas office.

Lafitte’s new role will capitalize on deep base of relationships, broad experience, and strong leadership abilities, the full-service commercial real estate company said in a press release.

Lafitte has been an investor of the company’s capital over many years. He joined Trammell Crow Company in 1997. He served in various roles, including chief operating officer of Global Services, regional director of the Central Region of the U.S., and Dallas Market Leader. CBRE acquired Trammell Crow Company in 2006.

Chris Kirk, currently Chief Executive Talent & Administrative Officer, will become the Global Chief Operating Officer.

Kirk was responsible for leading the implementation of the company’s recent reorganization and recruiting several top-notch senior executives.

In addition to his existing duties, he will assume responsibility for Marketing, Research, and the coordination of M&A activity between the company’s business units and the Corporate Development team.

Other announced leadership moves include: Bill Concannon, currently Global CEO of Global Workplace Solutions, will assume a new senior executive role as Global Group President for Clients and Business Partners; Jack Durburg, currently Global Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Concannon as Global CEO of Global Workplace Solutions; Daniel Queenan, currently the Global CEO of Real Estate Investments, will become the Global CEO of Advisory Services; and Darcy Mackay, Chief People Officer, will be elevated to the company’s Executive Committee.

In announcing the new assignments, Bob Sulentic, CBRE’s president and chief executive officer, said, “The moves we are making allow us to bring fresh perspective to the leadership of our three business segments, take maximum advantage of the individual strengths and talents of our senior leaders, and position the company for long-term succession.”
