And it could fetch more than $250 million.

Whitacre Tower, best known as one of AT&T’s headquarters buildings, is being marketed for sale by CBRE. Though AT&T owns its other three headquarters buildings, New York-based Icahn Enterprises, an affiliate of billionaire Carl Icahn, owns Whitacre Tower, also called One AT&T Plaza.

AT&T’s lease in the 37-story tower goes through 2030, and a new landlord would not impact the terms of the tech giant’s lease. The nearly 1-million-square-foot building is expected to draw international interest and could fetch more than $250 million. In 2008, Icahn bought the building for $60.1 million.

In late 2016, AT&T agreed to renew its downtown lease, which includes more than 2 million square feet across Akard and Commerce streets. After exploring other options, including a possible move to the suburbs, AT&T decided to create a “Discovery District” with street-level interaction at its downtown headquarters. AT&T and the city are amid the $100 million in improvements now.
