Dallas-based DataBank has opened DFW3, a 145,000-square-foot data center near Parkwood Boulevard and Headquarters Drive in Plano. The facility has six data halls, 9 megawatts of usable power that is expandable to 13 megawatts, dual utility feeds, and redundant HVAC.
“We took the greatest care in custom building this state-of-the-art facility, which offers the latest technology and best practices in power availability, connectivity, efficient cooling and more,” DataBank CEO Raul Martynek says.
In addition to this new Plano facility, DataBank has data centers in downtown Dallas and Richardson. Outside Texas, DataBank has facilities throughout Cleveland, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh for a total of 14 data centers.
DFW is the second-highest absorbing data center market in the U.S. According to CBRE, 51 megawatts of new capacity was delivered to the colocation market in 2017, with an additional 38.8 megawatts under construction.
