FloorballPlanet, a division of GBK Sports LLC, signed a long-term lease for its headquarters, showroom, and distribution center at the Woodlands Business Center Building 3, located in Grand Prairie. The largest North American supplier for floorball equipment leased 12,818 square feet of space in the Class A industrial park from landlord, Woodlands Business Center LLC.

“There was no down time between tenants. When a new space pops up, there’s always a lot of demand for it,” Michael W. Spain, executive vice president and managing partner of Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, said in a statement. The three-building business center, which is fully leased, totals 91,854 square feet.

Over the weekend, Arlington played host to the growing game’s Lonestar Invitation Floorball Tournament, bringing in players from the U.S. National Teams. The sport, which resembles hockey, will be included in this year’s Special Olympics and World Games, and will also vie for a spot in the 2024 Olympics.

“We all had our eyes opened somewhat as to how big this sport is. A lot of folks involved in this transaction had to be educated about floorball,” Spain said in a statement.

FloorballPlanet was founded in 2008, with a goal of promoting and growing the sport, which originated in Scandinavia. The tenant was represented by Bob Gibbons with REATA Commercial Realty LLC. Spain as well as Bradford’s Brock Wilson and Joe Santaularia represented the landlord.
