Mitel, a leading provider of business communications, has leased two floors totaling 52,834 square feet in the new Granite Park IV office tower, which was designed by BOKA Powell and constructed by Balfour Beatty Construction. Granite Park IV is the fourth tower at the Granite Park development, which sits at the southeast corner of State Highway 121 and the Dallas North Tollway in Plano.
Mitel, which has more than $1 billion in combined annual revenue and a worldwide customer base of more than 60 million, will consolidate its two Dallas-based offices and house its Americas headquarters in Granite Park IV. Greg Fuller, the COO of Granite Properties, says Mitel chose Granite Park IV because of its range of amenities: location, the on-site Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park that will open in the fall, and a coffee-shop-style lounge. The building will also achieve LEED Silver certification, and features energy efficient building systems, exterior lighting, a fitness center, conference facilities, and a five-level garage.
“Mitel was initially attracted to Granite Park’s prime location,” Fuller said in a press release. “With our location, amenities, and the new Hilton Hotel coming on line in September, we’re experiencing high leasing activity.”
Jim Kirchoff and Robert Jimenez of Granite negotiated the lease on behalf of Granite Properties; Mitel was represented by John Roper of CBRE.
Rich McBee, CEO of Mitel, said that the company’s growth required its move to the new Granite Park campus. “Mitel has more than doubled in size since the beginning of the year, and our office requirements are expanding with us,” he said. “The new Granite Park office space is ideally located and equipped to support the growing business needs of a multinational company.”
