North Texas has more medicinal cannabis pickup locations than any region in the state.

Texas law says the medicine can only be stored in one location, meaning patients sometimes have to wait for weeks for their prescriptions.

Expanding diagnoses and changes to concentration and distribution regulations would allow the industry to grow and reflect public opinion.

"There's never been an opportunity like this for private investors in any industry, ever," says Dallas investor Matt Hawkins.

Medical marijuana proponents feel HB 1535's limited use of the medicine is "an egregious abuse of power."
