Get in on these looks before they hit stores.

Dallas-based Neiman Marcus unveiled its 89th annual “The Christmas Book” this morning, complete with a guest appearance from Keanu Reeves, who–non-ironically­–arrived on a motorcycle.

Generally, I’ll use any excuse to use Rent the Runway, but with so many weddings on the horizon, it sometimes make more sense to just buy a really great dress. And by great, I mean versatile. It’s kind of like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants except that it’s just you that travels and pants probably aren’t allowed. You get the point though: this magical dress has a lot to accomplish. In an ideal world, everyone would have the same tastes as me, but life doesn’t work that way (some people still wear madras plaid), so tried to find a few great dresses that, when paired with the perfect accessory, can easily transition from beach to barn and beyond.

It isn’t exactly breaking news that fashion and ethics don’t always go hand in hand. Carly Burson built her career designing and merchandising for J. Crew and Anne Taylor in New York, and she loved her profession, but she also wanted to give back. That's how Tribe Alive, her artisan-crafted jewelry and accessories brand was born.

Spring is still a few months away, but at the Fashion Industry Gallery in downtown Dallas, it’s top of mind.
