Former Hawkeye Leader Joins UM

As CEO, W. Joe DeMiero will lead strategy, direction, and operations for media company UM’s largest market, as well as overseeing management of clients, including USPS, E.J. Gallo, Rocket Mortgage and Zillow. DeMiero is founder of TiltShift, Publicis Groupe’s immersive reality arm, and CloudTix, the first software-as-a-service mobile ticketing platform. DeMiero also previously served as CEO of Publicis CRM agency, Hawkeye, where he worked with clients such as Google, AT&T, USAA, and Capital One. Though UM is based in New York, DeMiero will remain in Dallas.

Carrie Finney, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman

Carrie Finney

Carrie Finney has Finney has been with the CMI Group since 1998 as president and CFO, leading the company’s growth and expansion into markets including, government, toll authorities, telecommunication, utilities, healthcare, insurance, and financial services. Finney will keep her president title, but in her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and leading the company through additional growth.

Jamco Interests

Sherif Mityas, President

Sherif Mityas

Private Equity company Jamco Interests has promoted Sherif Mityas to president of Brix Holdings, a collection of franchise brands for which Jamco is a majority stakeholder. This will be an addition to his role as operating partner. In his new role, Mityas will lead Brix Holdings’ brands, which include Smoothie Factory, Redbrick Pizza, and more. Prior Jamco, Mityas held various executive positions including chief experience officer for TGI Fridays and CEO for Hollywood Video/Movie Gallery.

Jon Zucker, President

Jon Zucker

Prior to joining environmental health technology company CASPR, Jon Zucker founded and led the Dialectic Group, an independent digital agency. Now, Zucker will lead CASPR Group, an air purification company, as it tries to meet increased demand.

Brent Moore, Chief Operating Officer

Brent Moore

Brent Moore was previously president of Canadian-based gas and electricity retailer Just Energy’s North American retail business and founder of Save On Energy, an online energy comparison marketplace. Moore created Save On Energy’s model and developed its brand in the newly deregulated retail energy industry, then sold it in 2012. Now, Moore will lead operations for ComparePower, a marketing and sales tool that allows consumers to compare energy prices.

Catalyze Dallas Holdings

Michele Hodde

In her new role as Catalyze Dallas’ first CMO, Michele Hodde will drive revenue and sales growth. She previously spent 10 years with Orica, a commercial explosives company in the mining industry, serving in a variety of roles. Hodde was also formerly cofounder, president and CEO of EarthRoamer, an Xpedition Vehicle manufacturer.

Shea Kracheck, Tax Partner

Shea Krackeck

Shea Kracheck will oversee of individual, corporate, partnership, state, and franchise income tax returns, while also assisting clients with their tax planning goals. She was previously with Lane Gorman Trubitt for nearly15 years, rising from tax manager to partner.

Remington Hotels

Benjamin Howell, Divisional Vice President of Operations

Benjamin Howell

Benjamin Howell will now oversee operations for Remington’s 12–15 properties in the Midwest region. Howell spent the first 10 years of his career with Remington, rising from manager to general manager, before accepting various roles with Sonesta Hotels and Resorts, Aimbridge Hospitality, Widewaters Hotels, and more for the following 10 years.

Alex Weaver

As director of Government Affairs, Alex Weaver will manage relationships between distributors and local, state, and federal policymakers for Ben E. Keith Beverages, the third-lartgest beer distributor in the nation. Weaver will also oversee the company’s agenda by guiding its state and federal associations. She joined Ben E. Keith five years ago and previously spent five years in banking and investment roles at PlainsCapital Corp.

Barry Shurkey, Advisory Council Chair

Barry Shurkey

Barry Shurkey, CIO of NTT Data Services, will be incoming chair of the DFW Alliance of Technology and Women. Shurkey has been an active member of the Advisory Council for three years and has more than 30 years of IT leadership, including experience with EDS and HP.

Saurajit Kanungo is president of Cyber Group, where he has held various roles for 12 years. He was previously a principal at IT management company Pariveda Solutions.

Carina Reyes

Carina Reyes is executive managing director for Ernst & Young Global Consulting Services. She was previously senior vice president and managing director at JLL, as well as a vice president at Xerox.

Shannon Ashkinos, Board President

Shannon Ashkinos has been a part of the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors since 1995. As president, her responsibilities will include community outreach, mentorship, development, and advocacy efforts. Ashkinos began her career at William Rigg Realtors before moving to RE/MAX in 1997, then JPAR Real Estate in 2016, where she is now the vice president of connections and career success.
