With so much real estate activity happening in the Far North Dallas suburbs, it makes sense that brokers are spending a lot of time in the area. In an effort to be closer to clients, real estate firm JLL has set up a satellite office in Legacy West.
JLL’s new office will be in WeWork’s Legacy West location at 7700 Windrose Ave. The co-working space has the capacity for about 1,000 members in its 61,000-square-foot office within Legacy’s recently opened urban village. As part of its new membership, JLL will have a 12-person private office, as well as access to all WeWork amenities such as conference rooms and public workspaces. JLL expects to have a handful of “power users” who will utilize the space most often, though all JLL employees can use the location as “touchdown space,” according to Senior Vice President Torrey Littlejohn. JLL’s main Dallas office is in Preston Center.
Littlejohn, who lives in the Legacy area, says the satellite office will afford her more flexibility to meet clients where they are, and to get back underutilized commuting time in her days.
“It makes sense for us to have easy access to our clients,” Littlejohn says. “This will help us service the submarket at large … and it will afford me a [personally] a lot of flexibility.”
The WeWork location, which opened last summer, will soon be joined by a second Plano office. WeWork announced in January that it would lease about 60,000 square feet at The Shops at Legacy across Dallas North Tollway from its current space, effectively doubling its footprint in the suburb.
Over the last year, WeWork has been aggressively expanding in North Texas, including locations in Fort Worth and a Southern headquarters in Thanksgiving Tower.
