WeWork has made a big bet on North Texas in the last several months. After opening a southern regional headquarters in Thanksgiving Tower and doubling the size of its Plano location, the co-working giant now will make its debut on the west side of Dallas-Fort Worth with an 850-member location in Fort Worth’s 270-acre Clearfork development.
The Shops at Clearfork, anchored by Neiman Marcus, also officially opened Thursday (though many retailers already have been open for business) with retailers such as Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, and Tiffany & Co. The 500,000-square-foot open-air shopping center sits below two office towers.
WeWork’s new space at 5049 Edwards Ranch Road will house private offices, dedicated desks, and all the membership perks that can be found in WeWork’s 160 locations worldwide.
“WeWork builds more than just beautiful work spaces; we aim to build communities that help people collaborate and thrive,” WeWork General Manager for the South Adam Wacenske said in a statement. “We’re encouraged by the interest and growth we’ve seen in [DFW], and we’re excited to bring our community to Fort Worth.”
WeWork’s Fort Worth expansion comes after it opened its 84,000-square-foot regional headquarters in downtown Dallas. It also has a 45,000-square-foot location in Uptown’s 1920 McKinney. Earlier this week, WeWork announced it would double the size of its Legacy West location to top 50,000 square feet.
WeWork’s Clearfork location will open in 2018.
