It's a very big weekend for live music, thanks to the grand re-opening of the Longhorn Ballroom, the NCAA Women's Final Four, Taylor Swift, and New Jack legends New Edition.

The Longhorn Ballroom’s Grand Reopening

March 30-April 1| The Longhorn Ballroom, 216 Corinth St.

The stage has hosted acts varying from the Sex Pistols to Merle Haggard to Nat King Cole. And now the Longhorn Ballroom will celebrate its triumphant return this weekend with three nights of shows, starting Thursday with Asleep at the Wheel. Old Crow Medicine Show and Joshua Ray Walker will hold down Friday night, and Morgan Wade and Lucero will play Saturday night. Get tickets here.

Pegasus Contemporary Ballet

March 31-April 1| Moody Performance Hall

Dallas-based Pegasus Contemporary Ballet will stage “Synergy, Dallas Music in Motion” at Moody Performance Hall this weekend. The performance will feature three live collaborations between the ballet company and local Dallas musicians, including DJ and electronic composer Elkin Pautt, singer-songwriter Dev Wulf, and jazz fusion band The Kwinton Gray Project. Taylor Swift

March 31-April 2, 6:30 p.m.| AT&T Stadium, Arlington

The weekend Swifties have been waiting for since last November is finally here—Taylor Swift will spend three nights in Arlington and if you managed to get a ticket, you’re probably already plotting the best way to get there. Dallas Opera Guild’s Biennial Lone Star Vocal Competition

March 31, 7:30 p.m.| Winspear Opera House

Catch Texas opera singers before they become famous at the Dallas Opera’s Biennial Lone Star Vocal Competition. The competition, which gives emerging singers an opportunity to showcase their talents on the Winspear stage, offers cash prizes and exposure. Attendees will also vote on the People’s Choice winner. The event will be emceed by tenor David Portillo, a former winner and current cast member of the Dallas Opera’s current production, Così fan tutte. Get tickets here

April 1, 8 p.m.| AT&T Discovery District

Rapper and Grammy nominee Saweetie will take the stage at the AT&T Discovery District downtown at 8 p.m. on April 1 as the NCAA Women’s Final Four tournament Super Saturday Concert, for free. Details here

Patti LuPone

April 1, 8:30 p.m.| Meyerson Symphony Center

The Turtle Creek Chorale’s annual benefit gala and concert always brings the best of Broadway, and this year is no exception. Patti LuPone will grace the Meyerson stage to perform hits from her Broadway career, which includes Sweeney Todd, Gypsy, Anything Goes, Evita, and Company. Get tickets here

New Edition, Keith Sweat, and Guy

April 2, 7 p.m.| Dickies Arena, Fort Worth

New Edition is giving no indication that they’re going to cool it now (see what we did there?), having embarked on a 30-city Legacy Tour with fellow New Jack legends Keith Sweat and Guy (with its original members—Teddy Riley, Aaron Hall, and Damion Hall).  Get tickets here
