The Nixons
January 27, 7 p.m. | Trees
Feeling nostalgic? The Nixons will hit Trees, which might be the most ’90s thing typed on this website in the 21st century. The Oklahoma City alt-rock band released a new album this summer, Kaleidoscope, but expect plenty from the early catalog, including the breakout hit “Sister.” Get tickets here.
ONEUS
January 27, 7:30 p.m. | Will Rogers Auditorium, Fort Worth
Ah, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Time for those big bulls, those big buckles, and those big K-Pop boy bands. If you’re having a bit of a “one of these things is not like the other” moment but are still intrigued, Oneus, the band Billboard called the “K-Pop Act to Watch,” will take the Will Rogers Auditorium stage Friday night in support of their recent album, Malus. Get tickets here.
Larry the Cable Guy
January 28, 7:30 p.m. | Will Rogers Auditorium, Fort Worth
Also part of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo entertainment lineup, Blue Collar Comedy Tour favorite Larry the Cable Guy will perform a set. No word if he’ll bust out some Tow Mater jokes. Get tickets here.
Maggie Rose
January 28, 8 p.m. | The Granada Theater
Maggie Rose doesn’t call herself a country singer, but she’s played with plenty of country artists and has performed a few dozen times at the Grand Ole Opry. If you ask her, she’ll say her music is more what happens when rock, soul, funk, and R&B get together. She’s touring to support her latest album, Have a Seat, which was recorded at the famous FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Get tickets here.
The Lone Bellow
January 28, 9 p.m. | The Granada Theater
Brooklyn-based folk trio The Lone Bellow will bring tunes from their most recent album, Love Songs for Losers, to the Granada Theater Saturday night. Word has it that this latest album was a bit of a leap for the band, as they self-produced it and recorded at Roy Orbison’s former home in Nashville. Get tickets here.
