The Eagles
November 25, 8 p.m. | Dickies Arena, Fort Worth
I bet you thought I was going to make a string of puns with Eagles song lyrics for this post, but you’d be wrong. I can’t tell you why, though. At any rate, head to Cowtown to hear Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, and Preston Hollow resident Don Henley post up 30 of the band’s greatest hits. Get tickets here.
Judas Priest and Queensryche
November 25, 8 p.m. | The Factory in Deep Ellum
Judas Priest, true story, is something my 10th-grade gym teacher used to say when we sunbathed instead of playing softball. But it’s also a very popular metal band that is responsible for some of the biggest metal hits of the 70s and 80s, including “Hell Bent for Leather,” “Sinner,” “Breaking the Law,” and “You Got Another Think Coming.” Queensryche will open. Get tickets here.
Joshua Ray Walker
November 26, 8 p.m. | Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall, Fort Worth
Joshua Ray Walker has had a big couple of years, starting with an album release that kicked off a national tour, a musical guest spot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February, and an inclusion in D’s Music Issue this year. Senior editor Zac Crain describes Walkers vocals on “Sexy After Dark”” “…suddenly he’s Otis Redding in the body of a baby-faced White country singer built like Dusty Rhodes. He goes from a down-on-my-knees-baby-please shout to an above-the-tree-line falsetto with such ease that it feels like a magic trick. Which it sort of is since it produces the same reaction.” Get tickets here.
Grupo Arriesgado
November 26, 8 p.m. | American Airlines Center
Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico, Grupo Arriesgado have quickly garnered a lot of attention with their hits that include nods to regional songs, like “El Fugitivo,” “La Línea Directa,” and “Los Mitotes.” Get tickets here.
Pat Green
November 27, 8 p.m. | Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall, Fort Worth
Known for one of his biggest hits, “Wave on Wave,” Texan Pat Green is now touring in support of his first album since 2015—Miles and Miles of You. Expect to hear “Build You a Bar,” “Steady,” and “It Don’t Have a Honky Tonk,” from the new album, but also don’t be surprised if a few favorites sneak their way onto the setlist. Get tickets here.
