Weekday Round-Up: Movie Trivia, Art-Making, and Juneteenth

Get creative this week.
|

Welcome to a new week. The weather continues to be cloudy and unpredictable, so we’d advise planning some indoor activities for the next couple days.

Tonight there’s ‘90s Movie Trivia at Trinity Cider in Deep Ellum. Test your knowledge of the goofy movie Clueless and you might win a $100 credit for Caviar. There’s also a concert at Transit Bicycle Co. and a Shakespeare in the Bar play at Wild Detectives.

Tomorrow, there are two ways to flex your creativity. The Cedars Union has a workshop on Suminagashi, a Japanese marbling technique, led by artist Adrienne Lichliter. Checkered Past Winery has a Paint Nite on Tuesday where you can learn how to paint a wavy landscape.

Wednesday is Juneteenth and the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center has its annual celebration from 2-7 p.m. There will be food, family activities, and a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new MLK Fresh Food Distribution Center. Wednesday also brings the weekly swing dancing night at Sons of Hermann Hall, Hugh Jackman’s world tour at American Airlines Center, and Poetry for a Cause at Top Ten Records.
