Dallas Summer Musicals announced the full lineup for its 2019-2020 season with Broadway Across America this morning. Dear Evan Hansen and Disney’s Frozen anchor the nine-show season, which runs from November to August. For the first time, DSM is collaborating with the AT&T Performing Arts Center to present two of the shows at the Winspear Opera House.

The series launches with beloved musical CATS November 5-17. The seven-time Tony Winner has its original score, scene and costume design, but it’s been updated with new choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton), and direction by Trevor Nunn (Les Misérables).

Next up is Dear Evan Hansen from November 26 to December 8. The Tony-nominated musical follows a lonely teen boy as he navigates the awkward world of modern adolescence.

The new year brings the comedic and musical stylings of the Blue Man Group (January 15-19), who, if you aren’t aware, are a group of blue men who entertain through non-verbal communication.

February 4 through 16, you can see The Band’s Visit, the winner of 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It also won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. In this surreal and upbeat story, a band of musicians find themselves in an isolated desert town. AT&T Performing Arts Center is also presenting the show in partnership with Broadway Across America from February 18-23. All shows will be at the Winspear.

Next spring offers the new musical Come From Away (March 10-22), the 20th anniversary tour of Rent (April 14-19), and a 50th anniversary production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Families and Disney fanatics will want to mark their calendars for June 17 through July 12, when the live musical version of Frozen comes to town.

Finally, the 2019-2020 season ends on a sweet note with Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville (July 28-August 9) providing theater goers with the perfect summer oasis.

At the moment, Dallas Summer Musicals’ season packages are only available to existing subscribers, with renewal starting at $215. Newcomers can join the waitlist here. Individual tickets should go on sale closer to the show dates.
