Tickets are now on sale for Homegrown Festival, which follows last year’s Tripping Daisy reunion with a more evenly distributed showcase of some of Texas’ biggest acts when it comes to decibel level and sonic breadth. Austin’s Explosions In The Sky, the post-rock four-piece whose sprawling compositions can be heard on the soundtrack for the Friday Night Lights movie and foundational TV show, will headline. As for imports: Canadian dream pop band Alvvays has been racking up sell-outs and filling bigger rooms. They’re an an ideal get for this lineup, which ranges from their softness to the bite of raucous, guitar-driven Austin three-piece Ume.
