Thomas Rhett To Play Cowboys Thanksgiving Halftime Show

We're a little tired of country music at these things, but Rhett seems nice enough.

The country singer announced this morning that he landed the prominent gig, performing on Thanksgiving for those football fans at Jerry World and for those millions of television-watchers who don’t take the halftime opportunity to load up on leftover turkey.

This is the third year in a row a country star has been booked for the Thanksgiving halftime show, reflecting perhaps the unadventurous tastes of Charlotte Jones Anderson, or maybe an organizational desire to keep advertisers happy with an anodyne performer at a time when the league is enduring significant turmoil. No way Thomas Rhett takes a knee.

Regardless, Rhett seems likable enough. Can’t be as bad as Luke Bryan was two years ago.
