After taking a year off to do pushups and listen to .mp3s by relevant new bands, the Gorilla vs. Bear music festival returns Aug. 12, with Washed Out, Jessy Lanza, Jacques Greene, She-Devils, and DJ Sober performing at the Bomb Factory. It’s GvsB’s biggest venue yet, and features a great lineup. Washed Out, the synthpop act that headlines and helped select the performers, knows how to pick them. This is as good as blissfully relaxed electronic pop music (is “chillwave” still in?) gets.
All this is to say that the sixth edition of the festival, the flagship event of the influential music site founded in North Texas, is going to be awesome. So awesome that, with our pals at the Bomb Factory, we’re giving away three pairs of tickets to the show. Would you like to become the holder of one of those pairs of tickets? Then here’s the deal.
Think of a response to one (1) of the three (3) following prompts. Leave that response in the comments, or tweet that response at @DMagazine using the hashtag #GvsB6. We will employ a rigorous selection process to determine whether your response entitles you to a pair of free tickets. We’ll select the winners Friday (Aug. 4) at noon, so check the comments here or your Twitter account around then. Here are the prompts.
- Name four of the acts that played the first Gorilla vs. Bear festival OR
- Tell us which sketch comedy show, other than Portlandia, Washed Out should do the theme song to, OR
- Tell us who would win in a fight between a gorilla and a bear and why.
